Meet Greeklik's Head Tutor

Vasia Kalogirou, Greeklik's head tutor

Vasia Kalogirou

@vasia_klg

Γεια σας! I'm Vasia, Greeklik's head tutor. Greek is meant to be spoken and argued over a coffee, so that's how we'll learn it. Whether you're here for the in-laws, for work, or because the islands stole your heart, I'll shape your lessons around you. Έλα — let's talk!

About Vasia

I am a certified and passionate Greek language tutor with a degree in Greek Language and Literature from the University of Ioannina (2019). I also hold two Master’s degrees: one in Special Educational Needs from Frederick University (2025) and one in Teaching Greek as a Second Language from the Hellenic Open University (2022). Since 2020, I have been teaching Greek to children, teenagers, and adults, both as a first and second language, in Europe, the USA, and Canada. My teaching approach is student-centered, supportive, and interactive, aiming to make learning effective, engaging, and adapted to each learner’s needs.

What's included in your lessons?

  • Homework in your inbox — a short, useful follow-up after every lesson (never busywork).

  • Resources we've built and tested ourselves — materials, audio, and tools that make progress something you can actually feel.

  • A structure shaped around you — your level, your goals, your schedule.

  • Real progress, faster — straight toward the goals that matter to you.

  • And above all, fun — because learning Greek shouldn't feel like a chore.

  • Daily speaking and writing practice on WhatsApp — quick check-ins between lessons that keep Greek part of your everyday.

Where are you on the journey?

A1

Γειά σου, beginner.

You can introduce yourself, order a frappé, and not panic when someone says καλημέρα.

A2

Finding your feet.

Everyday stuff: shopping, directions, small talk that doesn't end in awkward silence.

B1

Now we're talking.

Real conversations. You can explain what you think and (mostly) follow what people say back.

B2

Holding your own.

You can argue about politics at a dinner table — basically a national sport here.

C1

Fluent and comfortable.

Nuance, humor, sarcasm — you get the joke and the eye-roll behind it.

C2

They think you grew up here.

Near-native. The only giveaway is your name.

Not sure where you land? That's what the free trial is for.

Everyone's got a reason

❤️ You married into it. Now you want to follow the family group chat, hold your own at Sunday lunch, and finally know what yiayia says about you. We'll make you fluent in the language of the in-laws.

✈️ Greece keeps calling you back. Maybe every summer, maybe for good. "Another ouzo, please" only gets you so far. Learn to order like a local, find the tavernas tourists never reach, and feel at home the second you land.

💼 You mean business. Deals close faster in Greek. Win client trust, sound sharp in meetings, and handle the bureaucracy without breaking a sweat. Everything just works better when you speak the language.

The questions everyone asks.

How do I start?

Book a free trial lesson. We figure out your level and goals, and you have your first real lesson soon after.

I've never spoken a word of Greek. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Most people start exactly there. The alphabet looks scarier than it is; you'll be reading signs within the first few weeks.

Can I learn at my own pace?

Yes, lessons flex around your speed and your schedule, not a fixed classroom timetable.

Still here? Let's get you started.
